In 1904 and 1905 the City of Albany was home to a massive Halloween celebration, which consisted of a carnival, a parade and spectators that came from as far as 100 miles away. After more than 100 years in the grave, DiscoverAlbany is resurrecting the Albany All Hallow E'en Festival to run throughout the month of October.
A number of events are planned for the entire month - everything from spooky ghost tours to creepy pub crawls will take place at different city landmarks.
Some of the events include:
- Haunted tours of the NYS Capitol Building
- Ghost tours at various cemeteries
- Seances
- Ghost stories and cocktails at local pubs
- Trick or Trot 5k in Albany's Washington Park
Many more events will be added as part of the celebration, for a complete rundown visit albanyhalloween.com.
