The Times Union reports that plans have been submitted to the Albany planning board for a Chick-fil-A to open at 944 Central Avenue. The area is now an empty lot that was once part of the Armory Auto Center.
The new restaurant would be 56,000 square feet with two drive-thru lanes to handle approximately 50 cars and outdoor seating to accommodate around 20 customers.
If approved, construction could begin as early as April and take about 6 months to complete. The new restaurant could employ as many as 150 people.
